Even after a year of living here in Switz, I am still constantly experiencing new and different things. Normally it’s been a great new cookie recipe or hiking a beautiful new mountain. This past weekend it was seeing a piggy roasting. (BTW, for those of you wondering how I’ve never seen one before, I’m Jewish and I’m from the suburbs of NY – of course I haven’t!)
So we went to a fun Family & Friends BBQ party for a flag football tournament hosted by the way-cooler-than-flag-football-and-actually-tackle-eachother team, The Bouncers. Florian told me they’d have “burgers” AKA what he meant was a giant pig cooking. It was so weird to look at!! I don’t know, does it not creep anyone else out?? Anyway, it was morbid fascination where I couldn’t stop watching… from the cooking to the butchering, I had to snap photos. Hope this puts you in the mood for lunch!
I went home and hugged my dog for like 30 minutes because that’s what it reminded me of!! I’m happy I don’t eat pork because I maybe would’ve had to stop after seeing that poor thing. Ewww, and people ate the brains!!!!!!!!!!
